You have to import the SSL certificate of your Tomcat client to the
truststore of your CAS Server to enable the proxy ticket callback. You
can use the InstallCert.java Program for this as well. (repeat the
above steps on the CAS Server for every tomcat client using proxy
tickets)

You have to configure a trust connection between the CAS client and
backend system with SSL certificates. On the tomcat CAS client the SSL
certificate must be available in a Java keystore. If you're not using
proxy tickets you can skip this step, You have different possibilities
