Edit Objects Independently

This section provides a tutorial on how to edit objects independently with object name specified in 'translate', 'rotate', or other editing commands in PyMol.

If you load multiple objects into a single state, you can edit them independently with object name specified in "translate", "rotate", or other editing commands.

The following PyMol session shows you how to move methane away from alcohol:

PyMOL>delete all
PyMOL>load Molecule-Methane.sdf, Methane, 1
PyMOL>load Molecule-Alcohol.sdf, Alcohol, 1

PyMOL>hide all
PyMOL>show sticks, Methane
PyMOL>show lines, Alcohol

PyMOL>translate [-1,1,0], Methane
