Nicky: Any progress on this? I am curious about how you resolved it.
If you haven't yet, then please see this excellent link for a complete
step-by-step tutorial on client (mutual) authentication:
https://www.herongyang.com/JDK/ssl_client_auth.html. I have tried it
myself and it works. Of course, you will have to adapt it a little by
providing your own certificates, etc.

Having said that ... I still agree with Ivan. I think a good way to
approach it is:
