Startup Program Configuration - User Startup Folder
This section provides a tutorial example on how to find where startup programs are defined in startup folders of login user profiles.
As we can see from the previous section, the second place where startup programs are defined is in startup folders in user profiles.
For example, the following O4 line represents a startup program configuration in the startup folder of the profile of ""All Users":
O4 - Global Startup: Google Updater.lnk = C:\Program Files\Google \Google Updater\GoogleUpdater.exe
On my Windows system, I checked startup folders of 2 user profiles:
1. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup - Items (links) defined in this folder will be used as startup programs for all login users. Currently, my system has the following:
Google Updater.lnk - Linked to GoogleUpdater.exe Microsoft Office.lnk - Linked to Office\OSA9.EXE Monitor Apache Servers.lnk - Linked to ApacheMonitor.exe 百度下吧.lnk - Linked to BaiduX.exe
2. C:\Documents and Settings\herong\Start Menu\Programs\Startup - Items (links) defined in this folder will be used as startup programs for "herong" only. Currently, my system has the following:
OpenOffice.org 2.2.lnk - Linked to OpenOffice.org\...\quickstart.exe
