Building Tracking Protection List in IE

This section provides a tutorial example on how to build your own tracking protection list in IE (Internet Explorer).

IE (Internet Explorer) also allows you to build your own tracking protection list. Let's try it in this tutorial.

1. Run IE and click "Tools > Manage add-ons" menu.

2. Click the "Tracking Protection" icon on the left. You will see tracking protection lists currently available in IE.

3. Select "Your Personalized List" and click the "Enable" button to start to build your own tracking protection list.

4. Go visit a number of your favorite websites, as many you can.

5. Click menu: Tools > Tracking Protection... and open the "Personalized Tracking Protection List".

6. Click "Tools > Manage add-ons" menu. And click the "Tracking Protection" icon on the left again.

7. Double click on "Your Personalized List". Then lower the setting to 3 on "Show content from providers used by this number of websites you've visited (3-30)".

8. Click the "Refresh" button. You will see a number of websites in the content list like:   Undecided (Allowed)   16 sites   ga.js   Undecided (Allowed)   16 sites   __utm.gif

9. Select and review each website. Then click "Allow" or "Block" depending on how much you trust them.

10. Click "Ok" to save changes.
