Add Visible Digital Signatures in Word Documents
This section provides a tutorial example on how to add a visible signature line with an attached digital signature in in MS Word documents.
In previous tutorials, John has added a digital signature that is invisible in the Word document. If anyone prints signed document, there will be no sign to indicate the fact that this is a signed document.
If John wants to add a visible digital signature, he can follow these steps:
1. Open the Word document and move the end of the document where John wants add a signature line.
2. Click "Insert > Text > Signature Line". John sees the signature setup screen.
3. Enter the signer name, title, and email address. Then click "OK". John sees a signature line inserted to the document.
4. Right-click on the signature line, and click "Sign" from the popup menu. John sees the sign screen.
5. Select a signature image, select a personal certificate to generate digital signature, and click "OK".
Now John has created a visible signature line with an attached digital signature generated by a personal certificate.
