∟Install Text Editor - Atom

This section provides a tutorial on how to download and install text editor Atom on macOS.

Atom is one of the most popular file editors to edit text files.

Here is what I did to install and run Atom on macOS:

1. Go to Atom website at atom.io.

2. Click "Download" under "ATOM 1.40.1 macOS". The download file will be saved in Downloads directory.

3. Drag and drop atom.app from Downloads to Applications directory.

4. Double-click on "Atom" in Applications directory. Atom screen is displayed to edit new or existing files.
