What Is Malware "Conduit Search"?
This section provides a quick introduction of malware 'Conduit Search', which uses browser search redirects and popup box to distribute advertisements on Windows systems.
What Is "Conduit Search"? Conduit Search is an adware platform developed by Conduit Ltd. from Israel. The platform allows Conduit's publisher partners to create custom toolbars, Web applications and mobile apps to distribute advertisements in dishonest manners.
If your Windows system is infected by "Conduit Search", you may experience the following symptoms:
Your Web browser, IE (Internet Explorer), Firefox, or Chrome, has a new toolbar with one of these names: iWin Toolbar, Rihanna Toolbar, SweetIM BAr Toolbar, BrotherSoft Extreme Toolbar, etc.
Your Web browser, IE, Firefox, or Chrome, suddenly has a new default home page: search.conduit.com.
Your Web browser, IE, Firefox, or Chrome, suddenly changes the default search engine to: search.conduit.com.
When you start a new browser window, the search.conduit.com search page shows up.
It mimics Google search pretty well. If you don't look carefully, you feel like using the Google service.
When enter a key word to search, it actually uses bing.com to perform the search.
