This section provides a list of commonly used IE (Internet Explorer) add-on programs. Short descriptions and disable recommendations are also provided.

Here is a list of IE (Internet Explorer) add-on programs that I have reviewed in the past. My understanding of each add-on is provided together with recommendation to keep or disable it.

"Shockwave Flash Object" - Enabled - It is needed to play Flash videos like YouTube.
"MSS+ Identifier" - Disabled - It is part of the McAfee Security Scan Plus software. But if you have other anti-virus software installed, you can disable it.
"Lync Browser Helper" - Disabled - It allows you to click any phone numbers on Web pages to call that number using Lync application.
"Groove GFS Browser Helper" - Disabled - It is part of Microsoft SharePoint Workplace, previously known as Microsoft Office Groove.
"Groove Folder Synchronization" - Disabled - It is part of Microsoft SharePoint Workplace, previously known as Microsoft Office Groove.
"Windows Live ID Sign-in Helper" - Disabled - It allows you to save more than one Windows Live ID on the same computer to enable faster user switching.
"Office Document Cache Handler" - Disabled - It caches Office documents when browsing a Microsoft SharePoint server.
"Lync Add-on" - Disabled - Not sure what is offered by this add-on.
"Send to OneNote" - Disabled - It allows you to send text or images on Web pages to Microsoft Office OneNote.
"OneNote Linked Notes" - Disabled - It offers support for OneNote Linked Notes on Web pages.
"Send to Bluetooth Device..." - Disabled - It allows you to send images on Web pages to Bluetooth devices.
"Java Plug-In SSV Helper" - Disabled - It is part of the Oracle Java Plug-in Technology.
"Java Plug-In 2 SSV Helper" - Disabled - It is part of the Oracle Java Plug-in Technology.
"Google Toolbar Helper" - Disabled - It offers an extra list of Google tools in the IE browser menu area.
"Google Script Object" - Disabled - Not sure what is offered by this add-on.
"Yahoo! IE Services Button" - Disabled - It offers an extra button in the IE browser menu area to access Yahoo! services.
"Yahoo! IE Services" - Disabled - Not sure what is offered by this add-on.
"My Search Bar" - Disabled - It offers an extra search field and other related tools in the IE browser menu area.
"My Search BHO" - Disabled - Not sure what is offered by this add-on.
"ZeroBar" - Disabled - It offers an extra list of NetZero tools in the IE browser menu area.
"Windows Messenger" - Disabled - It offers an extra button in the IE browser menu area to access Windows Messenger.
