What Is Astronomy
This section describes what is astronomy.
Astronomy is a natural science that studies celestial objects (such as stars, planets, comets, and galaxies) and phenomena that originate outside the Earth's atmosphere (such as auroras and cosmic background radiation). It is concerned with the evolution, physics, chemistry, meteorology, and motion of celestial objects, as well as the formation and development of the universe. The word astronomy literally means "law of the stars" in Greek.
Astronomy is a different than astrology. But it is related to astrology the following areas:
