Using Wi-Fi Function to Reduce Data Cost
This section provides a tutorial example on how to turn on the 'Wi-Fi' function to reduce data transfer cost when you are at home next to your home Wi-Fi network.
To save "Data Service" cost on you cell phone bill, you should turn the Wi-Fi function on your Android phone to use your home Wi-Fi network.
1. Tap on "Settings", "Wireless & networks", then "Wi-Fi settings".
2. Tap on the checkbox next to "Wi-Fi" to turn on the "Wi-Fi" function. You will your Wi-Fi SID displayed with other Wi-Fi SIDs in the neighborhood. You SID should have the strongest signal icon.
3. Tap on your Wi-Fi SID and enter your Wi-Fi password to finish up the connection.
Now you can browse the Internet, download files, or play on-line games through your Wi-Fi home network.
Without using the "Wi-Fi" function, the cell phone service provider will charge you for the amount of data transferred whenever you use the Internet.
