"soap12:operation" - SOAPAction Header Line
This section describes 'soap12:operation', a SOAP extension element that specifies additional binding information at the operation level. soapAction='uri' is not a required attribute for SOAP 1.2 over HTTP.
"soap12:operation" is a SOAP extension element used as a sub element of the "wsdl:operation" element
inside the "wsdl:binding" element.
"soap12:operation" is used to provide additional binding information at the operation level.
The syntax of "soap12:operation" looks like this:
Notes on the "soap12:operation" element:
- soapAction="uri" - Provides the value for the SOAPAction header line.
soapAction="uri" is not required for SOAP 1.2 over HTTP binding and not needed for other transportations.
- soapActionRequired="true|false" - Indicates if SOAPAction header line is required or not.
The default is "true".
- style="rpc|document" - Provides a message style for this operation.
This is an optional attribute. The default is provided by the "soap12:binding" element.
Here is an example of "soap12:operation" element:
<wsdl:binding name="helloBinding" type="hy:helloPortType">
In this example,
- soapActionRequired="false" indicates that SOAPAction header line is needed.
- "document" message style should be used because of the default setting at the binding level.
