RDP Server Certificate Location
- RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) is communication protocol developed by Microsoft
to allow a client system to connect to a Windows system remotely with graphical user
- Most RDP servers use self-signed certificates to authenticate the server
and encrypt data exchanged between the client system and the server system.
- When running "Remote Desktop Connection" program to connect to a RDP server system,
security warning message will be displayed on the self-signed server certificate.
- On the server system, the RDP certificate is located in the "Remote Desktop"
certificate store under the "Computer Account".
- You can use the "certlm.msc" command to access the RDP certificate.
- You can use the "mmc.exe" command to
create a new certificate console to access the RDP certificate.
