Chinese Calendar Format and Notations

This section describes the format and notations of Chinese calendars generated by the Chinese calendar program.

As you can see from usage examples included in the previous section, the text based calendar generated by ChineseCalendar.java uses these formatting rules:

For example, the January of year 2000 is presented as:

                    Jan
Sun Mon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat
                                     1/25
 2/26 3/27 4/28 5/29 ST 1 CM12 8/ 2
 9/ 3 10/ 4 11/ 5 12/ 6 13/ 7 14/ 8 15/ 9
16/10 17/11 18/12 19/13 20/14 PT 1 22/16
23/17 24/18 25/19 26/20 27/21 28/22 29/23
30/24 31/25

Notations used above are:

I have also created Chinese version of ChineseCalendar.java to generate Chinese calendars in Chinese characters. See http://www.herongyang.com/year_gb/ and http://www.herongyang.com/year_big5/.

If you want to obtain a collection of Chinese calendars for 200 years from 1901 and 2100, you can run ChineseCalendar.java 200 times, one run per year. Or you can get them from other chapters of this book.
