"regedit.exe" - Changing Registry Values

This section provides a tutorial example on how to change registry values for the FreeCell game program, like increase the total number of games won.

Now we know where FreeCell stores my personal game scores. I can easily modify my sores now by changing those registry values. Here is what I did to increase the number of game won from 79 to 335:

1. Start "regedit.exe".

2. Follow the registry key tree and locate the first FreeCell registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows
   \CurrentVersion\Applets\FreeCell

3. Double click on the registry value "won". The Edit Binary Value dialog box shows up.

4. Change the Hex number from "4F 00 00 00" to "4F 01 00 00". Click the OK button to save the change as shown in this picture:

5. Restart FreeCell and check the statistics. Now FreeCell shows that my "Total won:" is 335 now, because "4F 01 00 00" represents the Hex number of 14F same as the decimal number of 335.

If I want to, I could change my "Total lost" to 0.
