Chinese Horoscope Interpretation

This section describes how Chinese horoscope is interpreted.

In Chinese astrology, a person's Four Pillars, or Eight Words, are interpreted as:

  • The Year Pillar, the first two-word, determines his or her "outward animal" through the zodiac animal sign associated with the earthly branch.
  • The Month Pillar, the second two-word, determines your "inner animal" through the zodiac animal sign associated with the earthly branch.
  • The Hour Pillar, the fourth two-word, determines your "secret animal" through the zodiac animal sign associated with the earthly branch.

  • 子 鼠 Rat - Industrious, busy, resourceful, ambitious, determined, intelligent, concern for financial stability, enticed by bargains and opportunities, good provider for family, protective of assets when others ask favors, hyperactive and unable to relax, thirst for mystery and even gossip.
  • 丑 牛 Ox - Patient, courageous, reliable purposeful, determined, intelligent, intrepid, principle-centered, steadfast and determined, concern for the world and future generations, preference for calm and order, sentimental about the "good old days", vision for what's right and needed.

  • 未 羊 Sheep - Unusual, strange, bizarre, seeker of the exotic, lover of culture, sociable, mannered, polite, taste for sexy, traveler, explorer, adventurer.
  • 申 猴 Monkey - Lively, independent, quick-witted, optimistic, entertaining, good host, life of party, cunning, effectively manipulative, cool under pressure, intelligent, resourceful.
  • 酉 鸡 Rooster - Loyal, noble, lover of tradition and ritual, social, courageous, entertaining, ambitious, refined, often well-to-do, generous, helpful, often egocentric.
  • 戌 狗 Dog - Loving, caring, loyal, nurturing, non-judgmental, forgiving, seeker of peace and harmony, startled by conflict confrontation, the friend of all friends.
