Receive Bitcoin in My Test Wallet

This section describes how to check test transactions on my local peer.

After requesting a test Bitcoin fund from the testnet.coinfaucet.eu, and watching the transaction got confirmed on live.blockcypher.com, now I am ready to see the fund show in my test Bitcoin wallet.

1. Check balance of my test wallet. It is still 0.0 BTC.

C:\>\local\bitcoin-0.15.1\bin\bitcoin-cli -testnet getbalance
0.00000000

2. Find out how many blocks have been synchronized on my local peer. Still have a long way to catch up.

C:\>\local\bitcoin-0.15.1\bin\bitcoin-cli -testnet getblockcount
605596

3. Try to search for my transaction. Not found on my local peer.

C:\>\local\bitcoin-0.15.1\bin\bitcoin-cli -testnet getrawtransaction
   e22d5998a43e3e1d81784e6e92988d1c4eae77cd0e439542337e48a786c75e69

error code: -5
error message:
No such mempool transaction. Use -txindex to enable blockchain transaction
queries. Use gettransaction for wallet transactions.

It looks like I have to wait until my local peer is fully synchronized before I can see my transaction and funds in my wallet.
